Step-by-Step Security Screening Process
According to the airport’s standard operating procedure, during security screening of passengers with physical or medical conditions, s taff must take into account the individual's physical state. Authorized personnel are required to follow these guidelines:
- Clearly and calmly explain the screening procedure before starting the check
- Ask the passenger if they require any assistance
- Ask if the passenger is able to raise their arms, bend forward, or perform similar movements
- Address the passenger directly, rather than their companion
- Pay attention to the passenger’s behavior and responses
- If present, perform the screening in the presence of medical personnel
- When screening blind passengers, always inform them which part of the body will be checked first
- Be mindful of physical limitations or medical aids (e.g., catheters, prosthetics, pacemakers) and request medical staff assistance if needed
